Chinese tourist vanished near Tiger Zoo’s crocodile area

Gao Li Ping, a Chinese tourist who came alone to join a group tour on Sunday in Sri Racha Tiger Zoo in Chonburi province, is reported missing.

According to Jingya Sae Jao, the tour guide who led the party of 37 people, the 36-year-old Gao didn't return to the tour bus later.

"She looked so vacant and unhappy. She did not talk to anyone during the trip. I was afraid she would commit suicide," tour guide Jingya Sae Jao said as reported by The Nation.

"Initially, I started looking for her myself and asked zoo staff to help check CCTV footage, which suggested her last position was around the crocodile area. So I decided to alert police."

A group of officers began searching for Gao on Sunday night, but the operation was called off after a few hours amid heavy rain.

The Immigration Bureau as well as other officials from various agencies, tried to locate the missing woman yesterday but to no avail.

Pol Colonel Chanapat Nawalak of Nong Kham described Gao before she went missing. According to the police commander, Gao was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, red shorts, white sneakers, a pink wide-brimmed hat and a black backpack.

Police investigation showed that before Gao arrived in Thailand, she had a divorced from her husband.
