In a video conference Nathathorn Phrosunthorn announced a nationwide crackdown designed to clean out foreigners and retain jobs supposedly for Thais only.
He cited in particular those taking Thai jobs in the restaurant business and selling wares on the move.
Those involved in fake marriage certificates and those running businesses using Fake Thai ID will be closely monitored by immigration officials, too.
Mr. Nathathorn added that many of these businesses use Thai as fronts but the ones doing all the work are actually foreigners including management.
The chief immigration warned that those breaking the law will be deported.
