UK tourist reunited with fat wallet

CHON BURI — An epitome of selfishness and honesty was shown by Phetnoi Moots, 47, when she returned a wallet stuffed with cash and credit cards lying in her convenience store to a British tourist .

According to Ms Phetnoi, she found the wallet lying on a table in her store in Bang Malung district on Tuesday and reported the find. The wallet was later reunited with his owner who was identified as Adam Morris, 39, a British engineer who was visiting Thailand for the first time and due to return home today. 

Ms Phetnoi said the man was drinking at her shop but left without finishing. She found the wallet as she went to clean the table. She reported the find to police.

The wallet contained 55,000 baht, 4,950 rupees, some credit cards and an identification document of Mr. Morris.

After the tourist reclaimed his wallet at the police station, he gave a Thai 'wai' to Ms Phetnoi and rewarded her with some of the cash.
