Foreign teacher falls to death

An English language teacher from America was found dead in the early hours of Wednesday, who, according to authorities, fell to his death from a pedestrian bridge in Nonthaburi.

The teacher's body was found lying near Central Plaza Rattanathibet shopping mall, said Pol Lt Adul Changpradit, a duty officer at Muang police station.

The man's death was reported by a security guard about 12:30 am on Wednesday, Changpradit added.

It was revealed that the foreigner was a 58-year-old language teacher at a language school in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi area. He was wearing a brown short-sleeve shirt and cream trousers.

His skull was fractured and his legs were broken, said the doctor who examined the body.

Police found two black bags belonging to the man at a bus stop opposite the shopping mall. A letter written in English and some medications were found inside one of the bags.

A security guard working at a nearby factory told police that he had seen the foreigner, who seemed sad, sitting at the bus stop since Tuesday evening. Shortly after midnight the man walked out on the pedestrian bridge and then jumped off, falling to the road below.

Police suspected stress related to an illness might have prompted the man to jump to his death. The US embassy would be asked to notify his relatives.

  1. safe nga ang bangkok from physical crime pero halos lahat mga puti or ibang lahi na may pera na nalink sa mga Thai na babae ay nagkaroon ng problema... wala nga physical crime pero malimit ay mental crime.. after uubusan ng mga Thai na babae ang mga puti.. suicide ang kinalabasan na gagawin ng mga puti after they have found themselves penniless....
